Selfie Pulla Song Lyrics: Kaththi is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Allirajah Subaskaran under the label Lyca Productions, along with co-producer Ayngaran International and distributor Eros International. The film stars Vijay in dual roles as lookalikes Kathiresan and Jeevanantham, as well as Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy Chowdhury, and Sathish. It centers on Kathiresan, a petty criminal and Jeevanantham doppelganger who seeks to lead a revolt by farmers from the latter's hamlet, Thanoothu, and assists them in their struggle against corporate firms that abused Thanoothu's water resources.
This is Vijay and Murugadoss's second collaboration, after Thuppakki (2012). Following an official announcement in November 2013, principal filming for the film began in February and lasted until September 2014. It was mostly shot in Chennai, although it was also shot in Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Begumpet, Nellore, and Kadapa. George C. Williams handled the cinematography for the picture, while A. Sreekar Prasad edited it. Anirudh Ravichander created the music and cinematic score.
Anirudh Ravichander wrote the music in his first collaboration with Vijay and Murugadoss. Before signing the project, Anirudh wrote the film's theme tune, which was published on YouTube on Vijay's birthday, 22 June 2014. From late 2013 to September 2014, the album was recorded. Madhan Karky, Yugabharathi, Pa. Vijay, and Hip-hop Tamizha wrote the album's lyrics. The album was launched on 24 September 2014 at The Leela Palace Hotel in Chennai. On 28 January 2015, the team uploaded the film's original background score on YouTube to coincide with the film's 100-day anniversary.

Kaththi was released in theatres worldwide on October 22, 2014, to coincide with the Diwali holiday, and gained critical praise, with reviewers applauding the screenplay, Vijay's acting, social message, technical elements, director, and action scenes. Prior to its release, the film was dogged by plagiarism charges and a commercial connection between the film's producer, Subaskaran, and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, prompting Tamil fringe organizations to oppose the picture. Kaththi was a box-office hit, becoming one of Tamil cinema's highest-earning films, collecting 130 crores (US$17 million). It was one of the highest-grossing Tamil films in the United States at the time. Khaidi No. 150, starring Chiranjeevi, was remade in Telugu.
The film earned three out of seven nominations at the Filmfare Awards South, including the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Tamil. It received four SIIMA Awards (including Best Film) and two Vijay Awards (Favourite Film and Favourite Director for Murugadoss). Furthermore, the film received two IIFA Utsavam and one Ananda Vikatan Cinema Award, three Edison Awards, and a nomination for Best Social Awareness at the Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards before losing to Sigaram Thodu (2014).
