Dutt and Tandon joined the cast, the former making his Kannada film debut. Parts of the film were shot concurrently with Chapter 1 in order to achieve the best results. The rest of the sequences began filming in March 2019 but were put on hold in February 2020 due to India's COVID-19 lockdown.
Five months later, filming began, and the project was completed in December 2020. Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mysore, and Kolar were among the cities that were visited. On April 14, 2022, K.G.F: Chapter 2 was released theatrically in India in Kannada, as well as dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
It's also Kannada's first IMAX release. Critics gave the picture mixed reviews, but it was generally thought to be a step forward from its predecessor. The pacing and plot were criticized, as were Neel's direction, cinematography, and acting.
